This is a hands-on workshop. We have invited Sebastian Aigner from JetBrains as our instructor to provide an experience unique to DroidKaigi.
All content will be provided in English, and simultaneous interpretation will not be provided.
DroidKaigi staff members will be available as tutors to provide support, so please feel free to apply even if you are anxious about participating in a hands-on session in English.
You will need to bring your laptop to participate. Detailed setup instructions for the development environment will be provided at a later date.
Title: Building Cross-Platform Apps with Kotlin, Compose Multiplatform, and Agentic Backends
Expected participant level: We assume you have experience building apps with Jetpack Compose. An understanding of Compose Multiplatform is not required, but it will be beneficial.
This Workshop is a special 4-hour program featuring Sebastian Aigner from JetBrains, where you will learn about Compose Multiplatform (CMP) and next-generation AI agent systems.
The core of the workshop is a hands-on session focusing on Compose Multiplatform. Through this hands-on experience with cross-platform development, you will also deepen your everyday mobile app development knowledge. It firmly incorporates the latest trends, making it optimized for you to grasp the "current state" of multiplatform development while efficiently acquiring CMP skills.
Additionally, the section on "Agentic Backends" mentioned in the title will introduce Koog, a next-generation agent system currently being developed by JetBrains. This is a rare opportunity to directly learn the mechanisms and architectural concepts of AI agents, for which demand is rapidly expanding.
Normally, you would have to travel to large overseas conferences like KotlinConf 2026 in Munich to gain direct exposure to such cutting-edge knowledge on CMP and AI agents. However, this Workshop provides a fulfilling curriculum where you can learn both practical cross-platform UI building skills and future backend technology concepts all at once, right here in Tokyo.
This is an unmissable opportunity for developers in Japan, so please make sure to join us for the DroidKaigi 2026 Workshop.
